What a certified Telugu translation costs

Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.

A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Telugu translation is checked for

A USCIS officer, a credential evaluator or a state licensing board reads three things: the whole text in English, a signed statement naming the translator, and a date. A Telugu certificate also carries a registration number and an office seal, and both are placed where the original puts them.

    What the certification includes

    • Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
    • Initials written out: a name printed as K. Srinivas has the K given in full on the translation with the Telugu beside it, because a US form has no field for a single letter.
    • The Telugu year named: the samvatsara printed above the date is translated as a name, and the Gregorian date beside it is left as the registry wrote it.
    • Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

    Municipal office, board, university

Telugu names lead with an initial, and a US form has nowhere to put it

Certificates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana print the father's name as an initial before the given name, and a married woman often carries her husband's name in the same position. A form that asks for a first name and a last name has no field for one letter, so the translation writes the initial out and keeps the order the certificate uses.

    Birth certificate

    On the Telugu document
    జనన ధృవపత్రం
    Issued by
the municipal corporation or the gram panchayat

    SSC marks memo

    On the Telugu document
    ఎస్.ఎస్.సి. మార్కుల మెమో
    Issued by
    the Board of Secondary Education

    Intermediate certificate

    On the Telugu document
    ఇంటర్మీడియట్ సర్టిఫికెట్
    Issued by
    the Board of Intermediate Education

    Degree certificate

    On the Telugu document
    డిగ్రీ ధృవపత్రం
    Issued by
    the university that awarded it

    Police clearance

    On the Telugu document
    పోలీస్ క్లియరెన్స్
    Issued by
the police, applied for through the passport office

    Aadhaar card

    On the Telugu document
    ఆధార్ కార్డు
    Issued by
    the Unique Identification Authority

Two things on a Telugu certificate have no American equivalent. The first is the initial: a name printed as K. Srinivas expects the reader to know that K stands for the father's name, and writing Srinivas alone loses it. The second is the Telugu year name printed above the date, a samvatsara that runs alongside the Gregorian year rather than replacing it. Both are translated as they appear, and the registry's own date is left where it is.

    Frequently asked questions

DHCTranslations handles Telugu documents in the US, including birth certificates and SSC marks memos, and each translation carries a statement signed by the translator who produced it.

A birth certificate for a family petition, an SSC memo and a degree certificate for an evaluation, and a police clearance for a licensing board. Medical records follow for nurses and doctors going through CGFNS or ECFMG.

DHCTranslations charges $54 for a certificate up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Telugu. Certification and the emailed PDF are inside that figure.

The initial is written out in full and the Telugu is printed beside it, in the order the certificate uses. Where a woman's record shows her husband's name in that position, both names are kept and the relationship is not assumed.

USCIS asks for the complete translation and a signed statement under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), which every order carries. The certificate has to be the one the municipal office issued, and a photocopy of a photocopy is the usual reason a filing is queried.

No. It is the class 10 record of subjects and marks, and an evaluator may ask for it beside the intermediate certificate and the degree. Each one is translated in full, with the grading explained in a note.

Yes. The twelve-digit number is carried across exactly, the address is translated as printed, and nothing is masked or shortened, because a reader matching the card to a form needs every digit.

Marks and grade points are reproduced as the board printed them, with a note on what a pass is and how the grade point average is calculated. DHCTranslations leaves the conversion to the evaluator rather than inventing one.

One certificate approved before 4pm ET is usually emailed the same day. A set of SSC, intermediate and degree papers takes about one business day, and a long consolidated memo is given a date in the quote.

Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Telugu, and the Telugu is written by a native reader of the language rather than assembled from a phrase list.
