Albanian Translation Services
DHCTranslations translates Albanian documents in the US, and the family certificate is often the one that carries the case, because a registry extract listing the whole household proves a relationship that a missing birth certificate cannot. A certificate starts at $54, and the signed statement and the PDF come with it.

Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

What a certified Albanian translation is checked for
A USCIS officer, an evaluator or a state licensing board reads three things: the whole text in English, a signed statement naming the translator, and a date. An Albanian certificate also carries a registry number, the municipality and a round stamp, and each is placed where the original puts it rather than gathered into a header.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- Letters are kept: ë and ç are carried as they are printed, and Xh, X and Q are transliterated the same way on every document in the file, so a name reads identically across a passport, a diploma and a court paper.
- Albania and Kosovo kept apart: the issuing municipality and the country are stated as they appear, because a US office treats a Kosovar registry extract and an Albanian one as documents from two countries.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

ë and ç stay, and the family certificate does the proving
Albanian is written with two letters English does not have: ë, a vowel English speakers read as a short 'uh', and ç, which is 'ch'. Carrying one and dropping the other changes a name, and a reader matching a translation to a passport sees it, so both letters are kept rather than flattened. The same care goes to the letter pairs xh, x and q, which stand for sounds English spells differently again.

The family certificate is the document US filers most often do not know they have. It is a civil registry extract naming the parents and every child in the household, and it is what an Albanian family sends when a birth certificate was never issued or was lost in the 1990s. The criminal record check is worth noting too, because in Albania it comes from the Ministry of Justice rather than the police, so a reader looking for a police stamp will not find one. A document issued in Kosovo comes from that country's own municipal registry, and the two are not interchangeable.

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations handles Albanian documents in the US, including birth certificates, family certificates and diplomas from Albania and Kosovo, and each translation carries a statement signed by the translator who produced it.
It is a civil registry extract naming the parents and every child in the household. It is sent when a birth certificate was never issued or was lost, and it proves the relationship that the missing document would have shown.
DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Albanian. The signed statement and the emailed PDF come with the order, not as extras.
They do, and they are not decorative. ë is a vowel English does not have and ç stands for 'ch', so a name printed with either letter is a different name without it, and a reader comparing the translation to a passport would see the change.
Each is transliterated to the English spelling of the same sound and then kept identical everywhere. xh is 'j' as in jar, x is 'dz' and q is 'ch', so the same choice is applied to the passport, the diploma and the court paper in one file.
No. They are two countries with separate registries, and a Kosovar extract is issued by its own municipality. The translation states the country and the office as printed, because a US officer treats them as documents from different places.
From the Ministry of Justice, not the police. A reader looking for a police stamp on it will not find one, which is why the page names the issuing body.
The school certificate and the marks sheet are translated with every subject and mark intact, and DHCTranslations adds a note explaining the Albanian scale so the evaluator can decide the equivalence.
A single certificate approved before 4pm ET is usually emailed the same day. A family set with a birth certificate, a family certificate and a marriage certificate takes about one business day.
Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Albanian, written by a native speaker of the language rather than converted from another Balkan language.
