Burmese Translation Services
DHCTranslations translates Burmese documents in the US, and the household list is usually the page that decides the file, because it records who lived at an address and how they were related when no birth register was ever opened. The price is $54 for a document, statement and PDF included.

What a certified Burmese translation costs
Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.
Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.
A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Burmese translation is checked for
Three things are read on every page: the text in English, a statement naming the translator, and a date. A Burmese page also carries a round township seal set across the text and amendments written in by hand, and each is handled where it falls rather than collected at the end.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- The name is described, not rearranged: the elements are kept in the order the record prints them, and the certificate states that no family name appears, so nothing is invented to fill a US field.
- Seals are placed, not paraphrased: where a seal is a device rather than a line of text, it is described in square brackets at the point it covers, with the office it belongs to named.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

No family name, and a number string that carries citizenship
A Burmese name is a set of elements with no family name among them, so a form asking for a surname is asking for something the document does not contain. The record itself is built from two papers rather than one: the household list kept by the ward, and the birth entry kept by the township. Both are translated in full, and the township that issued them is named where it is printed.

Two things surprise a US reader. The registration card number is not a plain string: it opens with a township code and carries a letter that records which kind of citizenship the holder has, so the letter is part of the number and is never dropped from a translation. And the household list is not a birth certificate, however often it is sent as one; it proves who shared an address and how they were related, and a US filing that needs a date of birth wants the township birth entry beside it.
What our clients say
Rated 4.9/5 from 314 verified reviews for USCIS submissions, court filings and credential evaluations.
“My matriculation marks were translated with the subject names intact, and the university could compare them without asking for a syllabus.”
Kyaw S.
“The card's township code and citizenship letter were reproduced exactly and explained in a note, which is what the caseworker needed to read the rest of the file.”
Aung K.
“The household list named everyone at the address, and the translation kept each relationship rather than compressing the family into two lines.”
Thiri M.

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations handles Burmese documents in the US, including township birth entries, household lists and registration cards, and each translation carries a statement signed by the translator who produced it.
No, and the difference decides files. The household list records who shared an address and how they were related, while the birth entry records a birth and its date. A filing that needs a date of birth wants the township entry, with the household list beside it.
DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Burmese. Nothing is added on top: the statement and the PDF are part of the order.
The elements are kept in the order the record prints them and the certificate states that no family name appears. Nothing is invented to fill a US field, because a surname the document does not contain is a discrepancy an officer has to reconcile.
It records which kind of citizenship the holder has, and it is part of the number rather than a decoration. The number is reproduced in full with the township code and the letter intact, and the meaning is stated in the translation so a reader is not left to decode it.
USCIS requires a complete translation and a statement signed by the translator, which is what 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) sets out. Send the whole list and the registration card as well, because the two are read together rather than one instead of the other.
No. An English text prepared at a shop in Yangon or Mandalay carries no statement naming the translator, and USCIS requires one. What is sent here is translated from the document itself, not typed up from somebody else's version of it.
A round seal that is a device rather than a line of text is described in square brackets where it falls, with the office named. Handwritten amendments are translated at the point they were written, since a correction in the margin is often the only record of a change of name.
The degree certificate and the transcript are translated with every subject and mark intact, and DHCTranslations adds a note on the Burmese grading so the evaluator decides the equivalence rather than a translator.
Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Burmese, written by a native speaker of the language rather than converted from a related one.
