Assamese Translation Services

Certified Assamese to English translation for USCIS filings, US court cases, WES and NACES evaluations, and medical or nursing credentialing. Assam certificates, marksheets and older family papers translated as issued, with the district named as the page names it.

DHCTranslations translates Assamese documents in the US, and a question that comes up at the counter is the district: Assam has redrawn its districts more than once in recent years, so a certificate can name one that no current map shows and a form's dropdown cannot match. A document costs $54, statement and PDF included.

    Pricing

What a certified Assamese translation costs

Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.

A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Assamese translation is checked for

An Assamese certificate checked against a US form raises two questions a translator has to answer on the page: which district this is, and why the name on an older paper does not match the name on a newer one.

    What the certification includes

    • Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
    • The district stands as printed: it is reproduced as the issuing office wrote it, with the year of issue beside it, rather than updated to a district that did not exist when the certificate was made.
    • An older spelling is not corrected: where a pre-1971 page spells a name differently from a modern passport, both spellings are kept, so a reader sees a change of convention rather than a change of person.
    • Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

    Districts and letters

When the district on the paper no longer exists

Assam has created new districts and merged others back within the last decade, so a certificate issued in the middle of that churn names the district as it stood on the day of issue. Nothing is wrong with the paper. The translation reproduces the district printed and states the year it was issued, which is what lets a reader see why the map and the certificate disagree.

    Birth certificate

    On the Assamese document
    জন্ম প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ
    Issued by
the gaon panchayat, or the municipal board

    Marriage certificate

    On the Assamese document
    বিবাহ প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ
    Issued by
    the registrar, or the panchayat

    Caste certificate

    On the Assamese document
    জাতি প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ
    Issued by
    the revenue circle office

    Income certificate

    On the Assamese document
    আয়ৰ প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ
    Issued by
    the revenue circle office

    Residence certificate

    On the Assamese document
    বাসস্থান প্ৰমাণপত্ৰ
    Issued by
    the revenue circle office

    Marksheet

    On the Assamese document
    নম্বৰপত্ৰ
    Issued by
    the board, or the school

Two features of an Assamese page need stating in the US. The script has two letters with no Bengali counterpart, so a page set in Assamese cannot be read as Bengali by anyone who checks the shapes, and the translation is made from the Assamese rather than from the language next to it. And an older family file may rest on papers drawn up before 1971, where a name was written in a spelling that later documents do not repeat, so the older page is translated as written and the variation is left standing rather than tidied.

    Frequently asked questions

DHCTranslations translates Assamese records in the US, covering panchayat and municipal certificates, circle office revenue papers, board marksheets and university degrees, with a signed statement on each order.

Assam has created districts and merged others back within the last decade, so a certificate carries the district as it stood on the day it was issued. The translation keeps that name and states the year of issue.

DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Assamese. The statement and PDF are included at that price.

The two scripts are close relatives, but Assamese keeps two letters that Bengali does not use, and their presence settles which language the page is in. That distinction decides which of our translators the file goes to.

It is common, and it reflects a change in transliteration convention rather than a change of identity. The translation leaves each spelling as written so the difference is visible rather than smoothed away.

Yes. Older records are translated as printed, with any handwritten entry described where it cannot be read with certainty, and the office that issued the paper named.

A translation is accepted when the full text is present and the translator's statement is signed, and both are supplied with the order. Send the paper as issued, with the register number and seal legible.

The marksheet is translated subject by subject with the maximum and obtained marks and the division, so the standard the board applied can be read by an evaluator.

Yes. Assam issues income, caste and residence certificates from the same circle office, and one of them sometimes travels with a US filing beside the birth record. Each is translated with its issuing office named.

Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Assamese, written by a native speaker rather than converted from Bengali.
