Welsh Translation Services
DHCTranslations translates Welsh documents in the US, and a bilingual certificate is where readers go wrong: the English half is not a translation of the Welsh half, both are the certificate, and a US filing still wants the whole page rendered because a document carrying Welsh is not a document in English. A document costs $54, statement and PDF included.

What a certified Welsh translation costs
Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.
Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.
A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Welsh translation is checked for
The trap is a page that looks half-finished in English and gets filed without a translation, or a translation made from the English half and guessed at for the rest.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- The whole page is covered: both language blocks are rendered, including any note or endorsement printed in one language only, so nothing on the sheet is left to a reader's inference.
- Order and names are kept: the sequence of the details follows the page as printed, and names stay as written, since letters that are single units of their own do not survive being re-spaced or re-sorted.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

Neither half is the translation
A certificate issued in Wales can print Welsh and English on the same sheet, and a reader who sees English concludes the work is done. It is not: the two halves were drafted as one document in two languages, neither is a rendering of the other, and the details do not always run in the same order. The translation covers the page rather than the Welsh column alone.

Three features of a Welsh file need explaining in the US. A bilingual page carries two official texts and no translation, so the whole sheet is rendered rather than one column referred to. Several Welsh letters are single letters of their own, so a name's length and its alphabetization differ from the English reading of the same string, and the name is treated as printed. And a document from Wales may arrive with statutory notices or policy papers attached, since public bodies in Wales issue material in both languages as a matter of course.
What our clients say
Rated 4.9/5 from 314 verified reviews for USCIS submissions, court filings and credential evaluations.
“My tystysgrif geni was Welsh-only, and the English version carried the mutated form of the place name exactly as the registrar printed it.”
Dafydd R.
“The leaflet went into Welsh alongside the English, and the clinical terms matched the health board's own glossary rather than being invented.”
Eleri H.
“The order went to a tribunal in England, and the certified English text kept the case number and the judge's name in the order the original used.”
Carys M.

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations translates Welsh documents in the US, covering register certificates, university awards, court orders, police correspondence and public-body papers, each with a signed statement.
Because the English half is not a translation; both halves are the certificate, drafted as one document in two languages. A page carrying Welsh is not a page in English, so the whole sheet is rendered.
DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Welsh, with the statement and PDF included.
They say the same things, but not always in the same order, and an endorsement can be printed in one language only. The translation follows the page as printed and covers any single-language note.
Several Welsh letters are single units of their own rather than two letters together, so the string has a different length and a different place in an alphabet than an English reader assumes. Names are kept exactly as printed.
Yes. Notices, forms, declarations and orders are translated with their references and the issuing body named, and any bilingual block is rendered in full.
A translated page is accepted where the full text is there and a translator has signed for it, and both come with the order. Send the certificate as issued, with the register details legible.
The award is translated with the qualification, the awarding body and the year, and the transcript adds the modules, marks and credit framework, so the standard can be placed.
Yes, and it matters for a bilingual page, because the two blocks are not interchangeable and a translation made from the English side alone will miss what the Welsh side adds.
Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Welsh, and the work is written by a translator working into their own language rather than adapted from an English draft.
