Manipuri Translation Services
DHCTranslations translates Manipuri documents in the US, and the word that misleads a form is the last one: a Meitei name commonly ends with Singh for a man or Devi for a woman, and neither is a family name, so a household entered by its final element looks like four unrelated people sharing a suffix. A document costs $54, statement and PDF included.

What a certified Manipuri translation costs
Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.
Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.
A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Manipuri translation is checked for
A name split into the wrong elements is not a small error: it changes who is related to whom on the face of the file.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- Each element is named: the given name, the clan name and the honorific are identified separately, so the field a US form calls a surname receives the element that behaves like one.
- The script is stated: where a page is in the older Bengali script and another in Meitei Mayek, both are named, since the same name shares no letters between them and a reader comparing two pages needs to know why.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

Singh is not the surname
A Meitei name is built from a given name and a clan name, and it is often written with an honorific at the end: Singh for a man, Devi for a woman. Read as a surname, that honorific makes every man in the family look like a brother and every woman an outsider. The translation separates the elements and says which is which, because the difference decides how a family petition reads.

Three features of a Manipuri file need explaining in the US. The honorific at the end of a name is not a family name, and reading it as one makes relatives look unrelated. A family file can carry two scripts, since papers printed before the change use the Bengali script and newer ones the Meitei Mayek, and the two share no letters, so one name looks entirely different across two documents. And the clan name, which is inherited, is the element a US surname field actually wants, which is why the translation names each part rather than presenting a single string.
What our clients say
Rated 4.9/5 from 314 verified reviews for USCIS submissions, court filings and credential evaluations.
“My certificate was in Bengali script and my marksheet in Meitei Mayek, and the translator showed both spellings before settling on the one my passport uses.”
Ningthoujam T.
“The BSEM marksheet carried a roll number and a division, and both came through exactly, with the subject list in the original order.”
Yumnam R.
“The certificate was signed by our village chairman rather than a registrar, and the translation named the village and the authority that issued it.”
Khumanthem H.

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations translates Manipuri documents in the US, covering birth and marriage records, residence and tribe certificates, board marksheets, university papers and court orders, each with a signed statement.
Not in the Meitei pattern. It is an honorific added for a man, as Devi is for a woman, and the inherited element is the clan name. The translation names each part so the surname field receives the right one.
DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Manipuri, with the statement and PDF included.
Older papers were printed in the Bengali script and newer ones in Meitei Mayek, and the two share no letters. One name can therefore look entirely different across two documents from the same family, and the translation names the script it found on each.
The clan name, since it is the inherited part and the one that stays constant across a family. The given name and the honorific are identified separately so the field is filled deliberately rather than by position.
A translated page is accepted where nothing is left out and a translator has signed for it, and both travel with the order. Send the page as issued, with the stamp and reference legible.
It records community membership as the issuing district office states it. In a US file it usually travels with a civil record rather than instead of one, and it is translated with the office and reference named.
The marksheet is translated with the subjects, the marks and the board, so the standard can be seen rather than inferred from a total.
Yes. Papers from the hill districts and from Meitei communities elsewhere are read as printed, with the local usage and the issuing office named rather than assumed from the state.
Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Manipuri, written by a native speaker and set in whichever script you need.
