Croatian Translation Services
DHCTranslations translates Croatian documents in the US, and the detail that stalls an affidavit of support is the currency: anything issued before 2023 is in kuna, anything after is in euro, and a reader who does not know the change has happened sees a figure with no meaning. A document costs $54, statement and PDF included.

What a certified Croatian translation costs
Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.
Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.
A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Croatian translation is checked for
A reader comparing two years of Croatian bank records needs to know that the unit changed, and a reader matching an old paper to a new one needs to know why the number has a different length. Neither is visible unless the certificate says it.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- The currency is named, not converted: each amount is translated with the unit printed beside it, and no rate is invented, since a financial affidavit is checked against the statement itself.
- Each number is identified: the older thirteen-digit number and the later eleven-digit one are labeled for what they are, so a reader does not treat two identifiers for one person as two people.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

Two currencies and two numbers in one file
Croatia replaced its currency at the start of 2023, so a family file assembled over several years holds bank statements and salary confirmations in two different units. A conversion is not mine to make: the translation states the currency printed on each page and the rate the payment used, if the document states one, and leaves the equivalence to the reader.

Three features of a Croatian file catch people out. Amounts from before 2023 are in the old currency and later ones in the new, so a salary shown twice can look as though it halved. An identity number issued before 2009 has thirteen digits, and the tax number used since has eleven, so one person's papers can carry two numbers that appear unrelated until the certificate says which is which. And the citizenship certificate is a document in its own right rather than a page from a register, so it carries the basis of citizenship instead of a birth entry.
What our clients say
Rated 4.9/5 from 314 verified reviews for USCIS submissions, court filings and credential evaluations.
“My wife's name appears in the ijekavian form on the certificate and differently on her passport, and the note explaining the spelling settled it.”
Marko Š.
“The A and B levels were set out per subject and the 1-to-5 grades explained, and the university compared them without asking for more.”
Petra J.
“The rodni list carried my OIB and my parents' details, and the translator kept the register reference exactly as printed, which the caseworker checked line by line.”

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations handles Croatian documents in the US, from registry certificates and citizenship papers to bank records and diplomas, and each translation carries a signed statement naming the translator.
Croatia used the kuna until the start of 2023 and has used the euro since. A statement from before the change shows the older unit, and the translation states it as printed rather than converting the figure.
DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Croatian. Statement and PDF are included at that price.
The number issued before 2009 has thirteen digits and the tax number used since has eleven. Both can appear in one file, and the translation labels each for what it is so they are not read as two people.
It is the citizenship certificate, a document in its own right rather than a page from a register. It records the basis of citizenship and the office that decided it, and that clause is translated as written.
The court, not the police, which surprises applicants who expect a police clearance. The translation names the issuing court as printed on the paper.
A translated certificate is accepted when the full text is present with a statement signed by the translator. Both are in the order. Send the paper as issued, registry reference and stamp intact.
The diploma and the record of examinations are translated subject by subject, with the grading scale noted where the faculty used it, so the evaluator can place the qualification.
No. Croatian uses Latin letters only and its own document names, and the offices that issue the papers differ. It has its own page for that reason, and the translation follows the wording printed on the page.
Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Croatian, written by a native speaker rather than adapted from a related language.
