Malay Translation Services
DHCTranslations translates Malay documents in the US, and the number is where a US reader starts: twelve digits carrying the birth date, the state where the birth was registered and the sex, so a filing can be checked against itself. A document costs $54 with the statement and PDF included.

What a certified Malay translation costs
Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.
Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.
A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Malay translation is checked for
A reader in the US can see the number but not decode it, so the translation sets out what each part of it states and keeps the printed dates separate, since a late registration puts two dates on one page.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- The number is explained once: the twelve digits are reproduced exactly and their parts described, so a reader does not have to work out which digits carry the date and which carry the state.
- Two dates stay two dates: where a registration happened years after the birth, both dates are translated and marked, because collapsing them would change what the document proves.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

Twelve digits, and a state code that is not where you live
A Malaysian identity number carries the date of birth in its first six digits, a two-digit code for the state where the birth was registered, a serial number, and a final digit that records sex. That state code follows the place of registration for life, so a person who moved at the age of two carries a code that has nothing to do with the address on the page - and a reader who assumes otherwise sees a contradiction that is not there.

Three things about a Malaysian file are worth knowing before it is sent. A birth registered long after the event is a separate document from an ordinary one, and the registration date on it is not the date of birth, so the two are stated apart rather than treated as one. A Muslim marriage and a civil marriage are recorded by two different authorities, and the certificate from each names its own office, so which one a receiving body wants is decided by that office and not by the translator. And documents from the eastern states may carry an order from a native court rather than a civil one, which is translated as the court printed it.
What our clients say

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations handles Malay documents in the US, including registration department certificates, identity cards and diplomas, and each translation comes with a signed statement naming the translator who worked on it.
The first six are the date of birth, the next two are a code for the state where the birth was registered, and the last digit records sex. The state code stays with a person for life, so it need not match where they live now.
DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Malay. Statement and PDF are included in what is quoted.
Because the birth was registered late, and the certificate records both the date of birth and the date the entry was made. They are different facts, and the translation labels each rather than treating the later one as the birth date.
The one from the authority that recorded that particular marriage: a religious department for a Muslim marriage, the registration department for a civil one. If both exist, send both, and each is translated with the office that issued it named.
It is a sworn statement made before a commissioner for oaths, usually to fill a gap where no register exists - a name variant, a missing certificate, a relationship. It is translated as a declaration, never presented as a certificate.
They can be. The eastern states have native courts alongside the civil system, so an order may come from a native court, and it is translated with the court that issued it identified.
USCIS reads the whole text in English with a translator's signed statement, and both come with every order. Send the certificate as issued, with the number and any stamp left as they are.
The diploma and the transcript are translated course by course, with the Malaysian scale noted where the institution used it, so the evaluator can place the result and not the translator.
Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Malay, written by a native speaker rather than adapted from Indonesian.
