Urdu Translation Services

Certified Urdu to English translation for USCIS filings, US court cases, university applications and credential evaluations. Records from Pakistan, and from Urdu-speaking households in India and now in the United States, arrive in Perso-Arabic letters with registrar stamps, thumbprints and handwritten entries, and every page is set into English as it was issued.

DHCTranslations charges $54 for a certified Urdu to English translation of one document, certificate and PDF included, with $0.12 per word beyond 400 words. National identity records, child registration forms, union council records and marriage contracts are read by a translator who works in Perso-Arabic letters, and each file carries a signed statement of accuracy.

What a certified Urdu translation costs

Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.

A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Urdu translation is built on

An Urdu file is prepared from the document as issued, never from an applicant's own rendering of it, and the certificate states who translated it, when, and from which script.

    What the certification includes

    • Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
    • Stamps and thumbprints: a union council seal, a registrar's signature or a thumbprint standing in for a signature is described in brackets where it appears, so nothing on the page is passed over in silence.
    • Right-to-left detail: names, register numbers and dates are read from the paper itself rather than guessed from a scan, and where two blocks of Urdu sit side by side the English keeps that arrangement.
    • Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

    Urdu paperwork

Which Urdu record is in your hand

A family record is issued by a union council, a municipal office or NADRA depending on where the event was registered, and each of them prints its own heading in Urdu. The table pairs the English name of the document with the wording actually on the paper.

Variants we handle Urdu - Pakistan Urdu - India, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Urdu - Hyderabad (Dakhni usage) Urdu records of US-based families

    Birth certificate

    What usually appears
پیدائش کا سرٹیفکیٹ, typed or handwritten, under a union council or municipal heading with a register number and a registrar's signature
    What we do with it
Reproduced whole, with the office named, the register number kept and the stamp described at the point where it falls

    Marriage contract

    What usually appears
نکاح نامہ, printed in columns with the dower, the witnesses and the registrar's seal
    What we do with it
Every column read in order, including the bride's and groom's details and the dower amounts as entered

    Identity card

    What usually appears
شناختی کارڈ, a NADRA card with an Urdu and an English face and a family number
    What we do with it
Both faces translated, with the family number and the address exactly as printed

    Domicile certificate

    What usually appears
ڈومیسائل سرٹیفکیٹ, issued by a deputy commissioner's office with a reference and a seal
    What we do with it
The reference, the issuing office and the period of residence carried across without abbreviation

Urdu runs right to left and several letters differ only by their dots, so a name read off a low-resolution scan can be the wrong name. The letters on the page are read as printed, and where ink has faded the file says so instead of guessing.

    Frequently asked questions

DHCTranslations handles Urdu documents in the US, including marriage contracts and birth registration papers, with a signed statement on every translation.

Upload a scan of each page, including the back, through the portal and say which office will read the English. DHCTranslations sends a written price before work begins, and the signed PDF follows by email; a printed set is quoted on request and mailed by USPS with tracking.

One document is $54 with the certificate and PDF together, and the rate becomes $0.12 per word for anything over 400 words into English. The other direction, English into Urdu, costs $0.14 per word. A multi-document file is quoted on total words.

A birth certificate or a marriage contract paid before 4pm ET on a weekday usually leaves the same day by email. Longer files, such as a full transcript or a court judgment, are given a delivery date in the quote rather than a promise at the desk.

It does, so long as the whole document is in English and a signed statement identifies the translator and their competence, with a date and contact details, which is what 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires. Every Urdu order delivers exactly that, plus every page of the original.

Birth certificates, national identity cards, child registration forms, union council birth and death entries, domicile certificates and marriage contracts make up most Pakistani files, along with matriculation and university mark sheets when a credential evaluation is in play.

Yes. Municipal birth and death records, marriage contracts and school certificates issued in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad and Mumbai arrive in Urdu as well, and the English names the issuing body rather than treating the paper as Pakistani.

A Hijri date is converted and the Gregorian equivalent shown beside it, and Urdu numerals are set as Western digits. Where a page carries the same date twice with different values, a translator's note says so rather than picking one silently.

Because the same name can be written as Mohammad, Muhammad or Mohammed, and families often vary it. One spelling is fixed for the whole order and matched to the passport or green card where one is supplied, so a reviewer sees a single identity.

Bilingual Pakistani records often print the headings in English and the entries in Urdu. The page is translated whole, the English portions are reproduced as they stand, and a note flags any place where the two languages disagree.

No. Clear images of every page are enough, including reverse sides and stamps, and the certified English returns as a PDF by email. Where a court or an embassy insists on paper, a printed set can be quoted and mailed by USPS with tracking.

Yes, at $0.14 per word. Affidavits, powers of attorney and school letters are the common orders, written in the Urdu register a Pakistani or Indian office expects, with the names spelled the way the US original spells them.

No. A plain certified translation is what is filed: an agency, a court or an evaluation service in the United States works from the translator's signed statement. A Pakistani or Indian paper going back abroad is attested in the country of issue.
