Czech Translation Services
A certified Czech to English translation starts at $54 for the first document at DHCTranslations, with the signed translator certificate and the emailed PDF inside that price; a document running past 400 words is billed at $0.12 for each additional word. Registry extracts, diplomas headed for a WES or NACES evaluation and court papers all leave on the same letterhead, signed and dated by the translator.

What a certified Czech translation costs
Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.
Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.
A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What is attached to a certified Czech translation
A Czech order is delivered with a signed statement of accuracy identifying the translator, the language pair and the date, plus the contact details a USCIS officer or a university registrar can use to check it.
What the certification includes
- Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
- Marginal notes: a marriage, a divorce or a change of surname written beside the entry on a Czech extract is carried into the English at the point where the page shows it, since those notes are usually the reason two records in one file disagree.
- Surname endings: a surname and its feminine form are set down exactly as each extract prints them, and the English explains that the ending marks gender and family relationship, so it cannot be read as a second person.
- Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

A Czech certificate is an extract, and the register behind it decides its name
Czech civil records are kept in registers at the municipal office where the event was entered, so what you hold is an extract from one of those books rather than a summary written afterwards. The register behind the extract, the number it carries and the recording official's stamp are what a USCIS officer or a credential evaluator checks against the form in front of them.
Birth certificate
- Czech document
- rodný list
- Register
- kniha narození
Marriage certificate
- Czech document
- oddací list
- Register
- kniha oddaných
Death certificate
- Czech document
- úmrtní list
- Register
- kniha zemřelých
Registered partnership certificate
- Czech document
- osvědčení o registrovaném partnerství
- Register
- kniha registrovaných partnerství
Registered partnerships have been entered into the same system since 2006, which is why a fourth register sits beside the three older books and why a file can hold a certificate with no marriage entry behind it. Marginal notes are written into the book itself, so they surface on the extract and travel into the English with it.

Petr V.

Frequently asked questions
DHCTranslations handles Czech documents in the US, including birth register entries and criminal record extracts, and every page carries a statement signed by the translator who worked on it.
From DHCTranslations, which works from your scan and returns English with a signed certificate. Orders are handled remotely, so a Czech extract can be sent from any US state; tell us the agency or school that will read it, and a written price comes back before any translation begins.
$54 covers the first document, the certificate and the PDF together. Every word beyond 400 in the same file is charged at $0.12, and Czech produced from an English original is $0.14 per word. A bundle of extracts is priced on the combined word count rather than one fee per page.
One page paid for before 4pm ET on a weekday is often emailed the same day. Two or three registry extracts usually take a single business day, and a long file such as a diploma supplement or a court decision gets a firm date in the quote before you commit.
Yes, provided the English is complete and carries the translator's signed statement of competence with the date and contact details, which is what 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires. Every Czech order leaves with that statement attached, and no printed line of the original extract is left out.
Both are issued from the same register book. A birth register entry is drawn up for the person named in it, while an extract is issued for a stated purpose and stamped with its own reference number. Send whichever you hold, and the English will say which of the two it is.
They are left exactly as printed. A Czech surname shifts with gender, so a mother and daughter may carry a feminine form while the father carries the masculine one, and the English adds a short note that the ending marks gender and family relationship rather than a separate individual.
Yes. The land registry extract is translated with the parcel number, the cadastral area, the listed owners and the issuing office all intact, which is what a US lender, attorney or county recorder normally needs to see before acting on the property.
They record later events written into the register beside the original entry: a marriage, a divorce, a death or a change of surname. Because they sit in the book, they appear on the extract, and we translate them where they are printed instead of moving them to the end.
Yes. Yes. The evaluators ask for the diploma and its dodatek k diplomu in complete English, with the institution, the program, the credits and the grading scale readable. Czech marks are kept as awarded and the scale is explained in a note, rather than converted into US letter grades.
Yes. The school-leaving certificate is translated with every subject, mark and classification, together with any annual report from earlier years that an admissions office asks for. The Czech grading bands are described so an admissions reader can place the result.
Yes, often. Papers drawn up before 1918, while Bohemia and Moravia sat inside Austria-Hungary, were written in German, and some Czechoslovak-era documents print two languages side by side. The English is made from the language on the page, and that language is named on the certificate.
No. A flat scan or a sharp photograph of every side, including a reverse that carries a stamp, gives the translator everything needed. The signed English returns as a PDF by email, and a printed set is quoted on request and sent by USPS with tracking once postage is agreed.
