Romanian Translation Services

Certified Romanian to English translation for USCIS filings, US court cases, WES and NACES evaluations, and medical or nursing credentialing. Records from the civil status office, the county police and Romanian universities are translated as issued.

Translation starts at $54 per document at DHCTranslations, with the signed certification and the emailed PDF included, and text past 400 words charged at $0.12 per word. A birth certificate is usually the first page in a family file, because every other Romanian record is checked against the name and date on it.

What a certified Romanian translation costs

Certified translations start at $54 per document: from $0.12 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from $0.14 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

Certification is the translator's signed statement, and it is included in the price.

A translation for USCIS, a US court or a US university is certified by the translator's signed statement, and nothing further is added to the quote.

What a certified Romanian translation is checked for

A USCIS officer, a credential evaluator or a state licensing board reads the same three things: the whole text in English, a signed statement naming the translator, and a date. A Romanian record carries a certificate number and a personal numeric code on the same page, and both have to survive the translation unchanged.

    What the certification includes

    • Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
    • One spelling per person: the same name written with and without its diacritics is the same man, so one English form is fixed for the whole order and the Romanian spelling is printed beside it on the certificate.
    • The CNP kept whole: the thirteen-digit personal numeric code is reproduced exactly rather than turned into a date of birth, because a reader who wants the birth date reads the field that holds it.
    • Certified PDF: the certified file is emailed at no extra cost, which is what a US filing accepts. A printed set can be arranged if a receiving body insists on paper, and is quoted per order.

    Civil status, police, university

A Romanian file is checked against the certificate number and the CNP

Romanian civil records come from the civil status office in the town hall, academic papers from the school or the university, and the criminal record from the county police inspectorate. Each row pairs the record with the words printed on it and names the office that issues it.

    Birth certificate

    On the Romanian document
    Certificat de naștere
    Issued by
the civil status office at the town hall

    Criminal record

    the county police inspectorate

    Bacalaureat diploma

    On the Romanian document

    the school or the university

Two fields appear on most Romanian records and rarely on an American one: the certificate number, which the issuing office uses to find the original entry, and the CNP, a thirteen-digit personal code whose first digit marks the century of birth. Both are reproduced as printed. A birth registered years after the event is also common in rural areas, and the registration date is shown next to the date of birth rather than smoothed over.

    Frequently asked questions

DHCTranslations handles Romanian documents in the US, including birth certificates and school records, and each translation carries a statement signed by the translator.

DHCTranslations translates civil records, diplomas and criminal records mostly: a birth or marriage certificate for a family filing, a school record and a baccalaureate diploma for an evaluation, and a criminal record for an employer or a licensing board.

DHCTranslations charges $54 for a document up to 400 words, then $0.12 per word into English or $0.14 from English into Romanian. Certification is part of that figure rather than a separate charge.

USCIS asks for the complete translation and a signed statement from the translator, which is what 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) sets out, and every order here carries one. Whether a particular filing is approved stays with the officer reading it.

The CNP is a thirteen-digit personal numeric code printed on Romanian civil records. It is reproduced digit for digit, because the first figure marks the century of birth and a reader who wants the date reads the birth date field instead.

It is the school or university record of subjects and marks, which is what an American reader calls a transcript. It is translated in full, with the grading scale and the credits explained in a note.

Marks run from one to ten and five is the pass mark, so the scale is set out in a note rather than converted into a grade point average. An evaluator makes that conversion, not a translator.

DHCTranslations fixes one English form of the name for the whole order, so the same person does not appear under two spellings across pages, and the Romanian spelling is printed beside it.

Yes. A divorce decree is translated in full, with the court, the case number and the date the marriage was dissolved, because a petition turns on that date rather than on the first page.

A single page approved before 4pm ET is usually emailed the same day. A family set of four certificates takes about one business day, and the date in the quote is an estimate rather than a promise.

Yes. DHCTranslations charges $0.14 per word from English into Romanian, and the text is written by a native Romanian reader rather than produced from a template.
