    Pricing

What a certified Nepali translation costs

Certified translations start at £40 per document: from £0.09 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from £0.10 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

Notarisation, where the receiving body asks for it, is quoted separately because it depends on the document and on notary availability.

FCDO apostille is available with our Express Service (usually 6-7 working days) or Urgent Service (usually 3-4 working days). Both are estimates: the real time depends on the document, the language pair and the level of certification, and is confirmed in your quote.

Every Nepali order carries a certification page naming the translator, the language pair and the date, with the Devanagari spelling of each name shown beside the English one.

    What every Nepali order includes

    • Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
    • One name form: where the citizenship certificate, passport and transcript spell a name differently, one English form is fixed for the whole order.
    • Dates reconciled: where a document gives a Nepali date or a year of birth only, the conversion is explained in a translator's note.
    • PDF and post: the certified PDF is emailed at no extra cost; printed copies are optional, by first class or tracked post.

Nepali: the citizenship certificate is the anchor

Nepali records come from the ward office, the district administration office and the education board, and the citizenship certificate is the anchor document. Each row pairs a record with the Nepali wording printed on it.

    Frequently asked questions

DHCTranslations prepares certified English translations of Nepali records for clients across the UK, working from scans or clear photographs sent through the secure portal. Citizenship certificates, ward-office registrations and academic records are all handled, and the finished PDF arrives with a signed certification page.

A single Nepali certificate starts from £40 per document, and longer files are priced from £0.09 per word after 400 words. Notarisation and apostille are quoted as separate items because the fee depends on the document. The Nepali total is confirmed before work starts. The £0.09 rate is for translation into English; English into Nepali starts from £0.10 per word.

Same-day completion is available for most Nepali documents when the order and cleared payment are confirmed before 4pm on a working day. Orders confirmed later, or over the weekend or on a bank holiday, start on the next working day, and the deadline is on your quote.

Most Nepali applicants do not, because registration was patchy outside the cities. The citizenship certificate is usually accepted instead, and we translate it as the identity document it is rather than describing it as a birth certificate.

Elements like Bahadur, Kumar, Devi or Kumari are part of the name and appear on Nepali documents. We follow the passport where one exists, keep them in the English rendering, and note where a UK form has merged or dropped them.

The certificate carries its own issue date, and UK bodies apply their own currency rules for visas, sponsorship and employment. We reproduce the date exactly so the receiving office can judge it, and nothing is altered.

Yes. UK ENIC assesses the qualifications, but the Class 10 and Class 12 certificates need the board, school, subjects, grades and marking scheme intact. We explain the Nepali letter-grade system rather than converting grades into UK equivalents.

Usually yes. Rural registrations are often handwritten on printed forms with a ward secretary's signature and a partially legible stamp. We translate the legible text, describe the stamp, and note anything that cannot be read rather than guessing.

Yes. Service records, discharge certificates and pension correspondence are translated, with service numbers, ranks and unit names reproduced exactly as they appear so they can be matched to Ministry of Defence records.

Yes, but not the Nepali original: the FCDO legalises a UK-issued document, or our translation once a UK notary has certified it. Our notary is in London, so the English pages are notarised there first and the apostille attaches to them; each stage is quoted on its own.
