Birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates, family books, identity cards, passports and academic records issued across the Arab world are all handled, and each order returns with a signed certification statement carrying the translator credentials and the date. Pricing

What a certified Arabic translation costs

Certified translations start at £40 per document: from £0.09 per word after the first 400 words into English, and from £0.10 per word for English into another language, with some pairs quoted higher.

Notarisation, where the receiving body asks for it, is quoted separately because it depends on the document and on notary availability.

FCDO apostille is available with our Express Service (usually 6-7 working days) or Urgent Service (usually 3-4 working days). Both are estimates: the real time depends on the document, the language pair and the level of certification, and is confirmed in your quote.

    Prepared for UK authorities

Certified Arabic translations that UK bodies accept

Arabic documents submitted to the Home Office, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, UK universities or professional regulators need an independent certified translation, not one prepared by the applicant or a relative. We translate the Arabic document exactly as issued, with a signed certification statement that caseworkers can verify.

    What the certification includes

    • Signed statement of accuracy: the translator's name, signature and date, their CIOL or ITI membership number, our company stamp and our contact details.
    • Stamps and annotations reproduced: seals, signatures, handwritten entries and marginal notes on the Arabic document are translated rather than skipped.
    • Names kept in full: family prefixes, the chain of names and the spelling order are held to whatever the passport gives, so a caseworker is not asked to match two versions of the same person.
    • PDF and post: the certified PDF is emailed at no extra cost; printed copies are optional, by first class or tracked post.

Arabic documents: what UK applicants need to know

Arabic documents differ by country more than by grammar: the same record carries a different name in Egypt, the Gulf and the Maghreb, and a caseworker matches the English form against whichever wording appears. The table sets the six records a UK file usually needs against the three main issuing regions.

    Frequently asked questions

DHCTranslations provides certified Arabic to English translations for UK visas, court proceedings, university applications and professional registration. Documents are translated by qualified human translators and issued with a signed certification page, with same-day completion available when the order is confirmed before 4pm on a working day.

Arabic work is quoted from £40 per document, with longer files charged from £0.09 per word after the first 400 words. Notarisation is priced on its own because the notary's fee depends on the paper. The amount is fixed in writing before any translation starts.

Most single Arabic documents are returned the same day when the order and cleared payment are confirmed before 4pm on a working day, which covers urgent visa or court deadlines. Delivery is confirmed in the quote before payment.

Yes, provided the translation is independent and signed: UKVI accepts a certified translation that carries a statement of accuracy, the translator's credentials and agency contact details, and ours carries all three. Guidance changes by route, so check the current rules for your application rather than relying on the translation alone.

Yes, and it is the Modern Standard form that matters: official documents are translated from Modern Standard Arabic as printed, and regional dialect is noted only where it appears. The English version follows the document in front of us, not the holder's everyday speech.

Names are given one consistent English spelling across your file, and patronymic forms such as bin, ibn or abu are preserved. Hijri dates are converted to Gregorian alongside the original.

Yes. Family books and civil register extracts are treated as civil-status records and translated page by page, including stamps, seals and any handwritten entries.

No. Clear scans or photographs of every page are enough, including the reverse and any stamp. Your Arabic originals stay with you, and the certified translation comes back as a PDF.

Yes. We translate Arabic documents issued anywhere in the Arab world, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and the Gulf states. Tell us the country of issue so the translation reflects the document in front of us.

Yes, but not the Arabic original: the FCDO legalises only a UK-issued document, or our own notarised translation of the Arabic one. Notarisation comes first, in London, and the apostille is then applied to that notarised English document. An Arabic original is normally legalised in its country of issue instead, so tell us the destination and we will quote the matching steps.

Yes. Arabic documents are translated into English and certified for UK authorities, with a signed statement of accuracy, and standard translation is available for commercial material. Certificates, court papers, contracts and academic records are all handled, from £40 per document and from £0.09 per word beyond 400 words.

Yes. English documents are translated into Arabic for employers, authorities and businesses across the Arab world, with certification added where the receiving office accepts it. Contracts, manuals, correspondence and personal papers are quoted from £40 per document, or from £0.10 per word past 400 words; some pairs run higher.
